Football fixtures scheduled to take place on Wirral Council managed grass pitches this weekend have had to be postponed due to the impact of the recent weather.

The Council Stated

"To All Clubs / Leagues

Unfortunately, due to the icy / wet condition of the grass football pitches and the weather forecast for the next few days, the pitches have been closed and football is cancelled for this weekend 11/12 January 2025."

With the current cold snap causing a lot of disruption and deemed a welfare issue, all Eastham Junior League and Wallasey Junior League fixtures have been cancelled on all surfaces this weekend. The Cheshire Girls League only have a handful of games going ahead at indoor venues, your manger will clarify if this is the case.
