Season 2024/25 kicks off this weekend, meaning we'll lots of excited footballers eager to take part in their first matches - whether it's the first game of the new season, or their first game, ever.

For some, it's a new beginning, and making the step up from Saturday morning kickabouts to having fully organised league matches, can be pretty daunting for players and parents alike - so we'd like to give a special mention to all of the players and coaches in our newly formed under 7's teams, a whole new experience for you all.

Kids love football because its a brilliant game and there's no better way for them to be active and have fun with their mates at the same time. So please, always...

• Let's encourage our players and not criticize as they will learn by their own mistakes.
• Respect decisions made by match officials.
• Parents, remember to let the coaches do the coaching.
• Never forget our coaches are all volunteers giving up their own time.

Win, lose or draw - the most important thing is that everyone enjoys playing for and supporting AC Hoylake JFC.
