Joe Kurton joined the club at our Under 5’s academy and at the time the coaching was run by Paul Williams and Martin Evans. They recall how Joe was one of the stronger lads and liked to get stuck in. The first few sessions he kept picking the ball up , as he would get muddled between rugby and football.

The following year parent volunteers were hunted down to run teams. Jay Ebbrell became Joe’s coach, from that day until now. Jay thoroughly grasped the club ethos of equal game time for all and allowing players to play in all the different positions. Winning games isn’t at the forefront but developing all of the players at a steady pace.

The hard work and commitment from Joe has paid off, being picked up at Under 12’s by a professional club is quite rare these days.

We wish Joe well and will follow his path closely. His family are extremely proud , as we at the club are too.
